Real Madrid top the list of highest earning clubs for the 12th year

Once again,Real Madrid are the club to have taken in more money than anyone else in football, having revenues that are 60 million euros more than second placed Barcelona.

Los Blancos received 751 million euros in the 2017/18 season, which was 76 million more than last season and 131 million more than 2016/17.

The 21st edition of the Football Money League report, as published by Deloitte, shows Madrid at the top.

In the report, Deloitte explain Madrid’s financial dominance is down to “the continuous growth of its commercial revenues, which have increased 55 million euros through merchandising, sponsorship and pre-season tours.”

The club’s commercial and sports marketing revenue reached 356 million euros, while their income from television coverage hit 251 million euros, which was 251 million more than the previous season.

Deloitte also note that the 20 European clubs with the highest turnover have generated revenues of over 8,300 million euros, 4.8 per cent more than the previous season.

Among the elite, there are nine teams from England, four from Italy, three from Germany and Spain respectively and one from France.
