In the 10th edition of the Corazon Classic Match, Real Madrid will face Chelsea, club president Florentino Perez confirmed, along with Chelsea Foundation director Simon Taylor.
The game will take place at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on June 23 with the goal of ‘generating hope for children who live with injustice and inequality’.
“This match demonstrates the commitment of football and the solidarity and strength this sport has to unite people from all over the world,” Perez stated.
“In June, we will be able to generate hope for those children who live through inequality across the world.
“It will surely be unforgettable for those who love this sport because solidarity is the most important value.”
The game is expected to include former players such as Marcel Desailly, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Ricardo Carvalho for the Blues and Roberto Carlos, Raul, Alvaro Arbeloa and Steve McManaman for Los Blancos.
Proceeds from the game will be allocated to social-sports projects for the Real Madrid Foundation for social inclusion that takes place in 80 countries and provides care to more than 105,000 people.
The Corazon Classic Match is organised annually by the Real Madrid Foundationand sees the club take on another side of international prestige each summer.
Since 2010, they have took on AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Inter, Juventus, Liverpool, Ajax, Roma and Arsenal.
