Ahead of their most decisive stage of the season, most of Real Madrid‘s players went for dinner on Monday night at the famous BiBo restaurant in Madrid, ran by the well-known chef Dani Garcia.
Thoughts are already turning towards the first leg of their last 16 Champions League tie against Ajax, and this meal emphasized the togetherness of this current squad as they celebrated their improvement in recent weeks.
Some players arrived together – Casemiro and Vinicius Junior; the French duo of Raphael Varane and Karim Benzema; and the young group of Fede Valverde, Brahim Diaz, Marcos Llorente and Sergio Reguilon – while some came on foot, like Marcelo, Mariano Diaz and Thibaut Courtois.
The rest drove, so that includes Luka Modric, Jesus Vallejo, Isco, Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos.
The biggest absentees were Keylor Navas, Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos.
The good atmosphere was the predominant feeling that came from the dinner and that is no surprise, given Madrid‘s improvement in recent weeks.
A long time ago, players at Los Blancos rarely met outside of Valdebebas but things are different now and the players are far closer; the captain, Sergio Ramos, believes Madrid can still have a good season, despite the 10-point gap behind Barcelona in LaLiga Santander.
