Real Madrid to play Champions League final in purple

12 May 2017

In Cardiff on June 3, Real Madrid will not be able to wear the famous white jersey as Juventus are the designated home team. During the draw for the Champions League semi-finals, it was also decided that the winner of the Bianconeri’s match against Monaco will be assigned the home team in the final.

As a result, Juventus will almost certainly wear their black and white kit, while Real are set to play in their purple second kit, having donned black in the semi-final two seasons ago.

In the 1998 final, Real wore white but with purple trim, such was their home kit at the time.
