Real Madrid not planning to buy new defenders even if Varane leaves

03 Jul 2021

Despite Sergio Ramos leaving and Raphael Varane being on the brink of joining Manchester United, Real Madrid don’t plan to sign a centre-back this summer, MARCA’s reliable Jose Felix Diaz reports.

It’s said that Nacho, Eder Militao, David Alaba and Jesus Vallejo will be Carlo Ancelotti’s four options at centre-back for the 2021/22 season.

Vallejo, who spent the previous season on loan at Granada, will be the fourth-choice centre-back.

Victor Chust and Mario Gila from the reserves are also named as options, although the former could leave on loan. The Whites have high hopes in regards to Gila, though.
