Real Madrid named 2018 European Club of the Year by the ECA

Real Madrid have been named the 2018 European Club of the Year by the ECA (European Club Association), an accolade the Whites have received in both of the past two seasons. In this, the ninth edition of the awards, Real Madrid were honoured for their achievements in an excellent 2017/18 campaign, in which the team lifted the club’s 13th European Cup, amongst several other trophies. The club’s vice-president, Pedro López Jiménez, collected the award from ECA chairman, Andrea Agnelli, at a ceremony held in Split (Croatia) at which Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid’s director of institutional relations, was also in attendance.
