Real Madrid have found the target in the past 70 official matches and are just three games away from equalling the all-time record for scoring in consecutive games held by Brazilian outfit Santos FC.
The Brazilian team with Pelé in their ranks were on target in 73 games ranging from November 21 1961 through to August 15 1963. They recorded 52 wins, 14 draws and 7 defeats in the process bagging 245 goals and conceding 96.
During the period the Vila Belmiro based team secured seven official titles: Campeonato Paulista 1961, Campeonato Brasileiro 1961, Campeonato Paulista 1962, Campeonato Brasileiro 1962, Copa Libertadores 1962, Copa Intercontinental 1962 and the now defunct Torneo Rio-Sao Paulo 1963.
Pelé played in 62 of these 73 games and “O Rei” scored 85 goals for the men in white (almost 35% of the team’s total during this phase).
