It’s not just on the pitch that Real Madrid are benefiting from having seen off Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16, as the club cash in on an economic reward off it too.

Los Blancos will receive 6.5 million euros for progressing to the next round of the Champions League, as the competition distributes money between teams.

That will take the total tally for the season to 31.7m euros.

They have now made it to the final eight for the eighth consecutive season, having continually done so ever since 2010/11.
