In his debut with Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League, Raul secured a memorable 3-1 victory after a start which couldn’t have been worse. After just two minutes, a mistake from Miguel Gutierrez allowed Franco Tongya through to open the scoring for the Italians. Just minutes later, it got even worse as Jordi Martin needlessly lashed out and was dismissed, leaving Los Blancos with 10 men early on. The team came back fighting though and two goals in just three minutes on the half-hour mark from Arribas and Dotor turned the tie around. Arribas equalised with a composed finish before Dotor was involved in some neat link-up play and finished from the edge of the box. Juventus came back into the game but Juanmi Latasa added a third goal for Real Madrid in the second half to settle the tie. The team will now face Inter in the quarter-finals as Raul looks to lead the youngsters to success in Europe.
