Zidane will have two of his usual back four unavailable for Real Madrid‘s match against Alaves on Friday after Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal picked up yellow cards in Sunday’s 1-0 win away at Athletic Club.
Ramos received his yellow from Jose Luis Gonzalez Gonzalez in the 90th minute after protesting a foul on Eder Militao.
Carvajal picked up his tenth yellow of the season with the match almost over, after a coming together between Luka Modric and Iker Muniain.
The right-back’s suspension creates a bit of a problem for Zidane as Nacho Fernandez is injured.
Militao will play at center-back due to Ramos‘ absence, so there are two potential options: one is Ferland Mendy, who played there in the second half against Eibar, and the other is Lucas Vazquez.
The Galician has played in this role for Real Madrid before, including in high-profile fixtures such as the 2018 Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.
