Rakitic would say “yes” to sign for Real Madrid

13 Oct 2019

The Diario Sport has reported that Iván Rakitic is on the exit road from Barça. The Croatian midfielder can not stand with Valverde and has switched on the machinery to leave the club in the winter market. Modric, very knowledgeable about his friend, already told Real Madrid that his compatriot would be willing to arrive at the Bernabéu.

Rakitic is very upset and at 31 (he turns 32 in March) he could look for a new direction in his sports career. Ernesto Valverde pointed out to him after the Anfield debacle and in Barça the waters have been very cloudy throughout the summer with the Croatian. A tug of war that has been culminated in the worst possible way for the interests of the player: he has barely played 21% of the minutes this season.

Luka Modric, a great friend of him and a compatriot, already informed Real Madrid this summer that Rakitic was for sale and that if they were looking for a midfielder, Ivan was a good option. The club did not launch for his signing since Zidane is not enthusiastic, but knows that Rakitic would give the “yes” to the whites.

Rakitic, for now, still does not fit the profile of what Real Madrid is looking for. His age clashes frontally with the signing policy established in the white club. In addition, in the capital they do not plan to face a ‘rocky’ negotiation against a very bad club because of all the historical cases of players who have preferred to play at the Bernabéu before the Camp Nou. For Rakitic it will not be, yes, since the best blow to the culé directive would be to sign for the eternal enemy.
