Ognjen Kuzmić joins Real Madrid

Ognjen Kuzmic (Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina,16/05/1990) has joined Real Madrid for the next two seasons. The Serbian international center boasts proven experience in European basketball and the NBA, where he played for the Golden State Warriors for two seasons and won the title once.

Measuring 2.14cm he possesses great height, mobility and a real presence in the paint. Indeed, Kuzmic averaged 9.4 points, 7 rebounds and a personal index rating of 13.9 in the 2016/17 EuroLeague campaign, during which he scooped the MVP award in January. What’s more, he also offers defensive solidity, which makes him an ideal fit for Real Madrid’s inside play.

The Balkan-born centre also boasts previous ACB experience. He made his first appearance for Unicaja Málaga in the 2011/12 season and played for Joventut de Badalona the next campaign, before taking the step up to the NBA. With his last club, Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, he lifted the league, cup and Adriatica League crowns last term.
