Whilst all focus on the pitch is on the LaLiga title race, behind the scenes Real Madrid have already been busy preparing the upcoming pre-seasonwith Los Blancos set to face an MLS All-Stars XI in August.
Los Blancos will be the very first Spanish team to take part in the annual event and the fixture will take place on August 2 at the legendary Soldier Field in Chicago.
The MLS team will be coached by Chicago Fire’s Veljko Paunovic and will be hoping for a better result than in their previous outing when they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Arsenal last summer.
As part of the official statement which announced the fixture, Paunovic made clear his delight at being given the opportunity to test himself against one of the globe’s top teams.
“It is an honour to represent Major League Soccer and work with the great players in our league as we take on one of the best clubs in the world,” he explained.
