Real Madrid have tied down yet another of their current stars on a new contract, with Casemiro signing a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2025.
The Brazilian, whose contract was set to expire in 2023, follows in the footsteps of Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez, who penned new contracts before the end of last season, and Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois and Fede Valverde, who have done the same this summer.
It hasn’t always been plain sailing for Casemiro at Real Madrid since he signed in 2013. There were originally some doubts around him and he was sent out to Porto on loan for the 2014/15 campaign, but he cemented his place in the side the following season under Julen Lopetegui.
His defensive work helps protect both Modric and Toni Kroos, and his time at the club has been laden with silverware.
