The debate around Thibaut Courtois‘ place in Real Madrid‘s XI has been silenced.
So much scrutiny surrounded him at the beginning of the season and his place appeared to be under threat from Alphonse Areola, but he has turned things around in recent weeks.
There’s no more doubting that he’s Zinedine Zidane‘s first and best choice in goal and nobody is questioning his suitability anymore.
The Belgian’s performance at Getafe on Saturday only served to reinforce that, as he was again excellent and played a decisive role in keeping the hosts out and helping Los Blancos to three big points.
He’s now kept nine clean sheets in his last 12 appearances, conceding against only Real Sociedad, Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain.
With another clean sheet under his belt, Courtois‘ confidence can continue to grow.
