Modric is among the three nominees for the 2017/18 UEFA Player of the Year award. Alongside the Croatian are Cristiano Ronaldo and Mo Salah. The winner of this award will be announced on August 30th during the draw of the Champions League Group Stage in Monaco. The ceremony will also see the winners of the prizes in each position in last year’s Champions League.
Modric had a phenomenal season in which he won Thirteenth la Decimotercera with Real Madrid and was World Cup runner-up with Croatia, where he won the tournament’s Golden Ball. He also added more trophies, namely the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup.
