Andriy Lunin has been crowned Under-20 World Cup champion with Ukraine. The Real Madrid goalkeeper, who spent the season on loan at Leganés, was one of the standout players in the tournament held in Poland and was eventually named best goalkeeper in the competition. Ukraine beat South Korea 3-1 in the final. as Lunin played all 90 minutes, proving his mettle with some key saves.

The goalkeeper played 6 of the 7 games his side faced, conceding only 4 goals in the group stage, Ukraine beat the USA (2-1) and Qatar (0-1) before drawing against Nigeria (1-1). That game saw Lunin save a penalty. They knocked out Panamá 4-1 in the last-16. Lunin was then called on by the first team and thus did not feature in the quarter-finals, which ended up with his team winning 0-1 against Colombia. He made his return in the semi-finals as they saw off Italy (1-0) on their way to the final itself.
