Zinedine Zidane will be without Luka Modric for Real Madrid‘s match against Granada on Wednesday, as the Croatian muscle has muscle overload in his left leg.
Modric was not present for training on Monday and he will undergo tests on Tuesday to determine to extent of the injury, although it does not seem serious.
The 35-year-old asked to come off in the 72nd minute of Real Madrid’s 3-1 win away at Eibar on Sunday night, with Fede Valverde coming on to replace him.
Since the Sevilla match, Modric has played in every match for Los Blancos, a period in which they have recorded five wins from five.
There was some fear at Ipurua when the midfielder asked to come off, but it seems like it was just a precaution and that he is dealing with muscle overload.
Real Madrid will take on Granada on Wednesday and then their final match of 2020 will be away to Elche on December 30.
No risks will be taken with Modric and now, after having not rotated much during this five-match win streak, Zidane is set to bring fresh legs into the side for these upcoming matches.
