Luka Modric will wear the number 10 shirt for Real Madrid during the 2017/18 LaLiga season. The Croatian inherits the evocative number from James Rodríguez, following his two-year loan move to Bayern Munich.
Modric had worn the number 19 shirt since his arrival in Madrid from Tottenham in 2012, and that number is now vacant. Marcos Llorente and Borja Mayoral have both been handed squad numbers; the midfielder will wear 18, and the striker will don the number 21.
Madridistas will hope that Luka Modric wears the number 10 shirt with greater success than his predecessors. Robinho, Lassana Diarra, and Wesley Sneijder are among the players who failed to flourish at Madrid with the 10 on their back.
