Robert Lewandowski continues to dream of a move to Real Madrid and is pushing to leave Bayern Munich where he believes he has come to the end of the road.
Sources close to the Pole have said that the player, who will be 30 this summer, continues to hope of a move to the Bernabeu.
The Madrid hierarchy are aware of his wish to move since his agent Pina Zahavi travelled to the Spanish capital to speak in person with them but the problem is that Bayern don’t want to sell and he has a contract until 2021.
Madrid would be willing to pay a reasonable price but don’t want to get into a war with a club in which they have a good relationship.
For that reason the chances that Lewandowski ends up at the Bernabeu this season are not high and depends on what happens at Bayern.
Uli Hoeness has said clearly no to the player on his wish to move while new coach Kovac believes he is a key part of the team. It is also Hoeness who has most power within the German club.
At the same time Madrid are calm about the situation and believe they have sufficient to cover for the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo and his 50 goals.
They have been approached by the agents of many strikers which they are evaluating but they are not desperate to sign.
