There is no doubt that Paris Saint-Germain fans wanted to intimidate Real Madrid for their Champions League meeting last Tuesday but it has now emerged just how far the club were willing to go.

UEFA have already opened proceedings against the French club for the use of flares and lasers, lax stewarding, and the behavior of their ultras during the game.

And now L’Equipe report that a high-ranking PSG official asked local police to remove their escort of the Madrid bus as it drove the team to the stadium.

Naturally, the authorities rejected this request and did ensure a safe arrival for the visiting squad ahead of the second leg.
