Isco put together a great performance and capped it with his first goal of the season in Real Madrid‘s 3-1 win against Valencia on Wednesday.
Zinedine Zidane gave him a starting line-up spot in Los Blancos’ 2-2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain on November 26 and the Spaniard has drastically improved his form in the last few games.
A mere 10 minutes before the break in the match against Valencia, Isco received the ball inside the opposition area and sent his effort past Jaume Domenech and into the back of the net.
He dedicated his goal to his son Theo and his partner Sara Salamo took to social media to send a message to the Real Madrid midfielder.
“Theo is watching you,” read her post.
“And he is very proud of his father.”
A few minutes later he could have scored his second, but his header from a corner kick crashed against the post.
Isco has netted 49 goals for Real Madrid, matching the figures of players such as Zidane, Davor Suker, Juan Sanudo and Francisco Aguilar.
Isco also set a personal record for most successful passes in this match, with 96 completed.
