Ferguson: “Real Madrid will dominate over the next three or four seasons”

01 Sep 2017

UEFA coaches’ ambassador Sir Alex Ferguson believes that the current European and LaLiga champions¬†Real Madrid¬†will continue to dominate over the coming seasons.

They have won three out of the last four Champions Leagues and become the first club to defend the trophy, while their squad consists of plenty of up-and-coming talent that could see them continue at the top for some time.

“Real Madrid make it very complicated for others to win,” Ferguson said at the gathering of Europe’s top coaches in Nyon on Wednesday.

“If they are united for the next three or four seasons they will continue to dominate.”

The former Manchester United boss also took time to comment on football’s latest experiment with technology as VAR continues to divide opinion in its early days of trial.

“Nobody is completely convinced,” he added.

“We cannot put up barriers to stop progress, which can be common in football, let’s give VAR a chance.”
