Last week in Moscow, Reyes equalled Navarro in becoming the player to make the most all-time Euroliga appearances. Tonight at the WiZink Center in front of his own fans, he went out on his own at the top of the list with 342 games. Prior to the clash with Olimpia Milan, the Real Madrid captain enjoyed a well-deserved tribute out on court. A video was played chronicling his European career before he was presented with a picture printed with the date of his debut clash and the two finals he has won, by the Euroleague president Jordi Bertomeu, joined by Whites’ legend Emiliano, who handed over a Real Madrid jersey bearing his name and the number 342.
Felipe Reyes has played in the continent’s top competition for the last 15 seasons, 14 of which have come with Real Madrid since 2004-05, following his debut appearance with Estudiantes in 2000-01. The Cordoba-born center heads an illustrious list of Euroleague names, ahead of Navarro (341), Jankunas (315), Zisis (310) and Spanoulis (300), as the only players to have played more than 300 games. The next madridista on the list is Sergio Llull, who sits in ninth on 263.
