Eder Militao has tested positive for COVID-19 in the test that the Real Madrid players have been subjected to ahead of their Champions League match against Inter on Tuesday.
The Brazilian center-back, as dictated by UEFA, must submit a negative test six hours before the start of the match or he will be unavailable for Zinedine Zidane in this crucial group-stage fixture. If Militao still tests positive on Tuesday, he will join Dani Carvajal, Alvaro Odriozola and Nacho Fernandez as the defenders unavailable for this clash against Inter.
“Real Madrid C.F. has given a positive result in the COVID-19 tests carried out yesterday, Sunday [November 1] morning,” Los Blancos’ statement read. “All other players and the first team coaching staff, as well as all club employees working directly with them, gave negative results in the same test. “It is also confirmed once again that everyone, with the exception of Eder Militao, gave negative results in the antigen tests carried out this morning [Monday, November 2].”
