Doubts about Spanish Super Cup taking place in Saudi Arabia

Late night radio show ‘Partidazo de COPE’ claim that there are serious doubts about the Spanish Super Cup being staged next January in Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Athletic Club and Real Sociedad are the clubs involved in the ‘Final Four’ format that saw Real Madrid crowned in Riyadh last January. With restrictions over member sof the publish attending sporting events die ton the coronavirus pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

The dates for the 2021 competition have already been confirmed with the semi-finals going ahead on 13th and 14th of January with the final being staged on Sunday 17 January. A definitive date from the federation is expected over the next few days but at present, everything points to the 2021 edition taking place on Spanish soil.
