Courtois to wear the No.1 shirt next season

12 Aug 2020

After having to wait two years, Thibaut Courtois will now finally be Real Madrid‘s official No.1, as he will take the famed shirt number once worn by his idol Iker Casillas.

Even though Los Blancos wanted to give him the No.1 last summer, LaLiga Santander regulations prevented that from happening.

Alphonse Areola‘s departure back to Paris Saint-Germain has now freed up the number.

Meanwhile, Courtois‘ No.13 is now free and it’s anticipated that Andriy Lunin, upon his return to the club, will take ownership of that shirt.
