COPE report that Marcos Llorente made a decision regarding the earlier-reported move to Atletico Madrid. The player wants to join our city rivals and feels excited about Diego Simeone’s project. Marcos was rumoured to be one of the ‘undesirables’ at Real Madrid and will exit the club in the summer.
Zinedine Zidane has all but confirmed immediate departure of the 24-year-old holding midfielder who rose to prominence playing under Santiago Solari, yet lost his place to Casemiro under Zidane:
“Llorente needs to play, he deserves it. We have to be honest with the players. He played well at Alaves because he had continuity. Here he hasn’t had that because there are a lot of important players – that’s life and we can’t change that,” said the French boss, making it clear another loan move is on the cards for the 24-year-old.
Yet, according to the earlier edition of Diario AS, Llorente wants to try his luck in the Premier League next season and doesn’t want any loan moves. Manchester United and Arsenal were allegedly leading the chase for Marcos and have allegedly offered personal terms for the out of favour midfielder.
