Former Real Madrid and Spain International, Iker Casillas has been discharged from hospital after he suffered a minor heart attack during a training session last Wednesday.
The Spaniard has thanked the medical team for all of their hard work as well as the thousands of fans who have sent him their best wishes since it happened.
“I am very grateful because I have been very lucky,” Casillas said.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support; it makes me feel very loved and appreciated.
“It is times like this when you just have to smile; it has made me incredibly happy to see so many people show their support for me.
“I would like to thank the hospital and Doctor Nelson who helped me win my fight.
“I also wish to thank all of my supporters around the world who have sent me messages of support.
“Time is the most important thing right now and I am not bothered if it takes me a few weeks or a few months to recover.
“Nobody knows what the future holds, but the most important thing is that I am alive and kicking.”
