Karim Benzema has been excellent for Real Madrid this season and the French striker has been the only player in the squad who has contributed towards replacing the goals lost by Cristiano Ronaldo‘s exit last summer.
He has proven that he is the club’s No.9, but he’s not closed to the idea of another arriving. The forward is one of the few players who is guaranteed a place under Zinedine Zidane next season and is possibly the only player to have delivered for all three coaches at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this season.
Benzema has 30 goals this season and is now just two goals shy of his best scoring season with Los Blancos, strengthening his position as a leader at the club.
But the club knowing that they can rely on the Frenchman for goals shouldn’t prevent them from signing another striker. When Madrid last won LaLiga Santander, they did it with a strong back-up option in Alvaro Morata and even Mariano Diaz.
Zidane has already spoken of a change of system, and if they move to a 4-4-2 they will need someone to join Benzema and the rest of the forwards.
Eden Hazard will arrive, but Real Madrid still need to sign another cold-blooded finisher for 2019/20.
