Gareth Bale will almost certainly miss Real Madrid‘s match against Real Valladolid on Sunday after spraining his left ankle in Los Blancos‘ 3-1 win away at Unionistas de Salamanca in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.
In the absence of tests, which will be conducted on Friday, everything is pointing towards the Welshman missing the trip to the Estadio Jose Zorrilla.
Bale had to come off in the 53rd minute against Unionistas, having opened the scoring after 18 minutes of play. He was replaced by Brahim Diaz, who scored the two goals that sent Real Madrid through to the last 16.
Zinedine Zidane confirmed Bale‘s injury post-match, although he did not state the extent of it.
The absence of Bale should not be too much of an issue for Zidane, though, as he has often had to come up with alternative solutions due to the forward’s regular injuries, as was the case last weekend at home to Sevilla.
