Asensio could miss six to nine months due to cruciate ligament injury

24 Jul 2019

There was awful news for Real Madrid during their Tuesday night match against Arsenal, as Marco Asensio went down with what is believed to be a cruciate ligament injury.

He was performing excellently, having scored once and having hit the woodwork too, but he fell to the floor in the 64th minute and had to be stretchered off.

There will be more tests, but it looks like the issue is a cruciate ligament injury in his left knee and this would come with a recovery time of six to nine months.

There was applause as he was stretchered off on his way to the ambulance at FedExField, with supporters hoping for the best.

However, it doesn’t seem like there will be a happy ending to this story for Asensio and for Real Madrid.
