The 2019/20 Champions League final can be moved from Istanbul to Madrid, as per the latest reports.
Madrid’s city mayor Jose Luis Martinez has revealed that the Spanish capital is negotiating to host this year’s UCL final.
“I know arrangements are being made, and I want to declare the city hall’s absolute support for this Champions League final being held in Madrid,” he told network 13tv, quoted by Marca.
Earlier reports claimed that it could be moved to Lisbon or to one of four German cities. The reason for all this is the lack of revenue without travelling fans.
The remaining fixtures of the Champions League are set to take place in August, right after the completion of the domestic leagues. Los Blancos are expected to face Man City in a second-leg tie on 7 August.
