A Vinicius we’ve never seen before

23 Aug 2021

Vinicius Junior enjoyed one of his best nights in a Real Madrid shirt with a dazzling two-goal cameo performance to rescue his side a point in their 3-3 draw with Levante on Sunday night.

The Brazilian came on with Los Blancos 2-1 down to replace Eden Hazard, before producing an exhibition in finishing to prevent his team from slipping to defeat in their second fixture of the LaLiga Santander season.

Vinicius restored parity in the 72nd minute, as he latched onto Casemiro’s through ball before keeping his composure to slot home.

And six minutes after Levante had retaken the lead through Rober Pier, Vinicius drew Real Madrid level with an impressive effort from an acute angle.

The 21-year-old is Los Blancos’ current top scorer with three goals, as he followed on from his strike in the opening LaLiga Santander fixture against Alaves with his brace at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia.

Vinicius has demonstrated a level of ruthlessness in goal that has often been lacking during his time at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, as he followed up his strike in the opening LaLiga Santander fixture against Alaves with his brace at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia.

The Brazilian stated his happiness with his performances so far at full time.

“A point is never good for Real Madrid,” said Vinicius.

“I am very happy to have started the league well.

“I will keep working on all parts of my game, not only on finishing.”

Now, Vinicius has left Carlo Ancelotti with a decision to make, as the Italian coach has deployed a trident of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale in the first two fixtures of the LaLiga Santander campaign.
