2 ways Real Madrid can line-up with Mbappe in attack

27 Aug 2021

With the signing of Kylian Mbappe imminent, Carlo Ancelotti must already be preparing his new-look Real Madrid attacking line-up.

The joy of having Mbappe in any team is that he can comfortably play anywhere in attack.

However, being right-footed, Mbappe would preferably play on the left-wing, where he can cut in and shoot with his stronger foot. Or as a centre-forward.

Here are 2 ways Real Madrid can lineup with the 22-year-old striker.

Option 1: Mbappe in 4-3-3

Real Madrid XI: Courtois, Mendy, Militao, Alaba, Carvajal, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Vinicius, Benzema, Mbappe.

Vinicius and Mbappe on the wings can be terrifying for any opposition.

Benzema will continue to lead Real Madrid’s attack as the focal point.

Option 2: Mbappe/Benzema in 4-4-2

Real Madrid XI: Courtois, Alaba, Militao, Nacho, Carvajal, Casemiro, Kroos, Valverde, Hazard, Benzema, Mbappe.

Ancelotti has played the 4-4-2 in times past – once at PSG with Cavani and Ibrahimovic, and at Chelsea with Drogba and Anelka. He won titles with that system too.

Mbappe and Benzema paired up front for France at the Euros. Carlo could opt for the same style again.
