1-2: Real Madrid qualify for UEFA Youth League finals for first time ever

23 Aug 2020

Real Madrid booked their place in the UEFA Youth League final, where they will do battle with Benfica to secure this continental crown for the first time in the club’s history. The showpiece will also take place at Nyon’s Colovray Stadium, where the Whites prevailed over Salzburg in the semi-finals.

Real Madrid led early thanks to Juan Miguel Latasa, who opened the scoring inside five minutes.

With Salzburg pushing on in search of an equaliser, Madrid doubled their lead with just over half an hour on the clock through Miguel Gutierrez.

Madrid’s youngsters were made to sweat in the second half though after Luka Subic‘s 50th-minute penalty halved the deficit, but they held on to progress to the final.
